A 19-year-old woman was fatally shot during a domestic altercation inside an apartment early Monday evening in the city’s Rhawnhurst section, police said.
A man also was killed in a shooting around the same time in Kensington, police said.
In Rhawnhurst, the shooting occurred just after 5 p.m. on the 7800 block of Langdon Street, police said. The woman, who was shot once in the chest, was taken by medics to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 5:41 p.m.
A man believed to be the shooter stayed at the scene and was taken into custody and a gun was recovered as evidence, police said.
A knife may have been used during the altercation, police said.
No other details were immediately available.
In Kensington just after 4:50 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting on the 3000 block of A Street and found a man lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to his head.
The man, whose age was not available, was transported by police to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:01 p.m.
Police reported no arrests in that case.
