Jack Schlossberg, a Democrat running for Congress in New York, is laughing off Ryan Murphy’s “American Love Story,” which follows the tumultuous romance between his late uncle John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy.

Schlossberg, the grandson of former President John F. Kennedy, reflected on the show during an appearance on “Next Question with Katie Couric.”

He revealed he got a kick out of how his parents were portrayed on the hit FX show, starring Paul Anthony Kelly as JFK Jr. and Sarah Pidgeon as Bessette Kennedy.

His parents, Caroline Kennedy and Ed Schlossberg, were meanwhile portrayed by Grace Gummer and Ben Shenkman.

“We were laughing so hard,” he said about watching a clip of Gummer. “The person was freaking out and we’re just laughing so hard, as if that’s how my mom acts.”

When Couric said the series had attracted millions of viewers, Schlossberg brushed her off and called it a “stupid show.”

Schlossberg said his biggest issue with the romantic drama is that it came out “amid serious problems facing our country.” He added that the Kennedy family is made up of more than just celebrities and icons.

“These are public servants,” he said. “It’s easy to remember my grandfather, my grandmother, my uncle, who were very glamorous people, as just celebrities like people today, but they were public servants.”

“We’re not royalty,” he added. “We don’t have a royal family in this country.”

“American Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. and Carolyn Bessette” premiered on FX on Feb. 12, and later added to Hulu. The 10-episode series is also available to stream on Hulu.
