Kylie Jenner is named in a new lawsuit from her former live-in housekeeper, who claims other staffers at the reality star’s home subjected her to religious and racial discrimination, as well as bullying, and that Jenner failed to act in her defense.
Angelica Vasquez named the Kylie Cosmetics founder, 28, as a defendant in her lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles last week and obtained Tuesday by TMZ and Us Weekly, in which she alleges “ongoing harassment, discrimination, retaliation and unlawful working conditions.”
Also named were Tri Star Services LLC, La Maison Family services LLC and as yet unidentified Does 1 through 25.
A representative for Jenner did not immediately respond to the Daily News’ request for comment.
Per TMZ, Vasquez says she was “belittled and humiliated in front of coworkers” for her race, her Salvadoran nationality — including jeering and intimidating regarding her “immigration status” — and her Catholic beliefs. She alleges her concerns went unaddressed by Jenner.
Vasquez says this “hostility and exclusion” as well as “severe and pervasive harassment” by multiple staffers — namely head housekeeper Patsy and another employee named Elsi — spanned the entirety of her tenure from September 2024 until she resigned this past August. At one point, Vasquez says she complained about the behavior, only for a higher-ranking employee to admonish her in a “violent” turn, by throwing hangers at her feet.
“This conduct was continuous and created a toxic and abusive work environment,” state the documents.
By the time Vasquez quit, she said she was further alienated and mistreated for the “anxiety, severe stress, and symptoms consistent with post-traumatic stress disorder” developed as a result of the bullying.
Vasquez is seeking damages for unpaid wages and emotional distress, as well as punitive damages, though the exact amount was not reported.
It’s unclear how much Jenner knew about the alleged conduct of her other employees and what the chain of command was with regard to reporting such behavior. It’s also unclear whether previous complaints had been made and whether those concerns were addressed.
Those with knowledge of Jenner’s home told TMZ that there “workplace concerns” regarding Vasquez, among them “attendance issues.”
Vasquez, per Us, says her coworkers “falsely accused” her of misconduct in a “demeaning and degrading manner.”
