3 killed in Baldwin Park shooting on Millbury Avenue

Two men and a woman were killed in a shooting on Millbury Avenue in Baldwin Park early Friday morning, April 24.

Authorities have released few details about the shooting in the 3200 block that was reported shortly before 5 a.m.

Firefighters found three people in critical condition and took one to a hospital, said Jonathan Torres, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

A man and a woman died at the scene while a second man died later at a hospital, a Sheriff’s Department statement said. Sheriff’s detectives are assisting Baldwin Park police with the investigation.

The medical examiner’s office had not yet publicly identified the three people.

This is the second Badwin Park fatal shooting in a week.

A 15-year-old Ontario boy was killed and two Baldwin Park men, ages 20 and 21, were critically wounded in a shooting that broke out in the 12900 block of Bess Avenue just after 5 a.m. Saturday, April 18.

The victims were at the 7-Eleven buying items, said sheriff’s Lt. Daniel Vizcarra. There may have been a confrontation between the two Baldwin Park men and other males, the lieutenant said.

It wasn’t clear if the teen, Omar Flores, had accompanied the two other victims to the store or he was there by himself. Flores died in the parking lot of a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the medical examiner’s office.

There is no connection between the Bess Avenue shooting and the shooting on Millbury Avenue, Vizcarra said.

Detectives asked anyone with information about the shootings to call the Sheriff’s Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500. Anonymous tipsters can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or go to lacrimestoppers.org.
