“No Jumper” podcaster Ant Jefe has reportedly been arrested for murder in Los Angeles.
The on-air personality also known as Maurice Shelmon was apprehended by the Los Angeles Police Department’s Robbery-Homicide Division, according to online booking records.
His podcast partner, Adam 22, told TMZ by text message that he didn’t know much about the situation, but expressed surprise over the news because his colleague “wasn’t really in the streets like that anymore.”
He said Ant Jefe, who’s also recorded music about the mean streets of South Central Los Angeles, had been doing “great” work as a podcaster over the past year. Adam 12 called the arrest “a big shock.”
It’s unclear who Shelman was allegedly involved in killing as well as when and where it happened. He was being held by LAPD on $1 million bail as of Wednesday afternoon, according to online booking records.
Ant Jefe recently posted video on YouTube cryptically indicating he was going through something.
“Today was not a good day, bro,” he says while seemingly riding in a car. “Today was one of those bad days, man, where the devil was working hard.”
No Jumper’s YouTube channel advertised that it would try to provide further information about Ant Jefe’s situation Wednesday afternoon.
The Los Angeles Police Department couldn’t immediately be reached for comment.
