Residents and businesses across multiple streets in Garden Grove were evacuated for a second time on Friday, May 22, after a vapor release from a tank containing an industrial chemical used in plastics and manufacturing at an aerospace plant.

Two evacuation centers have been set up at the Garden Grove Sports & Recreation Center and the Stanton City Hall and the Community Center.

Under California’s definition, an evacuation order means there is an “immediate threat to life,” and is considered “a lawful order to leave now.” Any area under an evacuation order is closed to the public.
