The late James Van Der Beek’s ex-wife, Heather McComb, got married over the weekend to actor Scott Michael Campbell in a festive outdoor ceremony in Montana.

“Yesterday Scott Michael Campbell and I under the covenant of God got officially married by my beautiful sister, surrounded by the people we love most in the world in our most favorite city, Missoula Montana,” McComb revealed Sunday on Instagram. “Our hearts are full and humbled by all of the love that we were surrounded by.”

She called it a “truly magical weekend that we will never forget.”

The 49-year-old McComb had been married to Van Der Beek, of “Dawson’s Creek” fame, from 2003 to 2010, when they divorced a few months after splitting. Van Der Beek remarried later that year and had six children with wife Kimberly Van Der Beek.

McComb’s marriage comes three months after Van Der Beek died at age 48 on Feb. 11 following a stage 3 colorectal cancer diagnosis. McComb posted a heartfelt tribute to him the next day.

She and Campbell had known one another for 15 years before becoming romantically involved in 2023, according to USA Today. They got engaged in 2025. Their ceremony on Saturday was outdoors, and both bride and groom were accompanied by a wedding party about a dozen strong.

Campbell posted his own set of photos.

BEYOND BLESSED for the most AMAZING week getting married to the BEAUTIFUL soul who is @heatmccomb,” he wrote in an Instagram post punctuated with heart emojis. “THANK YOU to ALL of our friends and family and all our newfound friends and family!”

McComb has appeared on “Party of Five,” “Profiler,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and “The Rookie,” among other credits. Campbell was in “Brokeback Mountain,” “ER” and “Shameless.”
