Three Philadelphia police officers were injured late Saturday during gunfire in the city’s Wynnefield section, and the alleged shooter is dead, according to police officials and multiple reports.

The shooting happened about 10:30 p.m. near North 54th and Arlington Streets in the West Philadelphia neighborhood, according to 6abc and CBS News Philadelphia.

Two officers and a sergeant were shot, police spokesperson Sgt. Eric Gripp told reporters outside Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where the officers were reportedly stable. The alleged shooter was pronounced dead at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Gripp confirmed.

Gripp said the officers were called to reports of a shooting in the neighborhood, but no additional details were immediately available.
