A multi-car collision on northbound U.S. Highway 75 left one person dead and multiple injured, according to the Dallas Police Department.

Police responded to a major accident on the expressway near Royal Lane at 8:14 a.m., according to DPD spokesperson Corbin Rubinson.

Rubinson added that “multiple people” were immediately transported to the hospital by Dallas Fire-Rescue.  DFR did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the crash.

Information about the number of injured people and the severity of their injures was not immediately available.  

Police are still working to learn more about the deadly crash. Authorities diverted northbound traffic on U.S. 75 to the Royal Lane exit as they gathered more information. As of 11:48 a.m., the scene was clear and the road reopened.
