A man was killed and a woman critically injured when their motorized scooter collided with an SUV on a Queens highway Thursday, cops said.
The two were riding on Grand Central Parkway when their scooter collided with an SUV near the Jackie Robinson Parkway around 6:30 p.m., according to law enforcement.
The crash sent both the man and woman flying from the scooter and onto the pavement, where they sustained serious injuries.
The injured woman was rushed to NY-Presbyterian Queens Hospital in critical condition. The man died at the scene.
Police said both the scooter and the SUV were heading in the same direction when the crash occurred. It was not immediately clear who was operating the moped.
The occupants of the SUV declined medical attention.
There were no arrests.
