Kim Kardashian has turned off the comments section after addressing backlash over the easy breezy photos she posted of herself and her family on vacation Thursday, amid the death of her maternal grandmother, Mary Jo “MJ” Shannon.

Shannon’s death was confirmed Thursday in an Instagram tribute from daughter Kris Jenner. She was 91.

It was also that day that SKIMS founder Kim, 45, posted an Instagram carousel — captioned “lake life” — of herself, sister Khloé, and their young kids, enjoying water sports, a slumber party and more.

“Your grandmother died Kimberly,” commented one user, which racked up over 3,900 likes.

“Didn’t your grandmama just pass? This couldn’t wait [until] the weekend?” wrote another, in a comment liked by over 5,000.

Journalist Yashar Ali told detractors to “get a grip,” as the post was “clearly … scheduled.”

Shortly after the lakeside post, Kardashian shared a tribute to her grandmother, who she remembered as “my best friend, my gossip buddy, my forever twin,” who taught her “what it meant to be a hardworking businesswoman” and served as “my safe place.”

“You truly were the matriarch of our family, and your love is woven into all of us. I know you’re at peace now,” wrote Kardashian. “YOU ARE THE BEST OF US!!!”

It was around the time of that post that Kardashian responded to those calling her out in the lakeside one, before turning off the comments entirely on Friday afternoon.

“This post was scheduled a few days ago before we lost MJ, so its timing came right alongside her passing. I’ve been by my mom and grandma’s side this past week, and my heart is completely with my family right now. We love and miss her so deeply, and in the days ahead, we’ll be focusing on celebrating her beautiful life,” wrote Kardashian. That clarification has been liked by nearly 132,000.
