President Trump shared a photo of Vice President Vance’s newborn baby.
“Congratulations! A perfect baby boy for the wonderful Vance family,” he posted on Truth Social.
JD Vance became the first sitting Vice President to become a dad in more than 150 years when his wife Usha gave birth to Alec Neel Vance on Sunday morning at the Walter Reed Medical Center.
The photo posted by the President on Monday shows Alec with his 6-year-brother Vivek and 4-year-old sister Mirabel. The Vances also have a 9-year-old son named Ewan.
The Vice President announced the newest member of his family in a statement posted online Sunday.
“Usha and the baby are happy and healthy, and our kids are overjoyed to meet their little brother,” the statement said.
The Vances married in 2014. They had Christian and Hindu wedding ceremonies. The pair met while attending Yale Law School.
Usha hosts a podcast called “Storytime with the Second Lady” that features special guests discussing children’s books.
The Vice President was her guest on a June 21 episode focusing on “Winnie The Pooh.”
“Right now we have three kids, obviously we have a fourth on the way, which we’re very excited about,” he said.
Vance confessed that he was looking forward to having a new child who can’t yet read books on his own.
“That’s why I so desperately wanted to have a fourth baby, is because I was sick of my kids growing up and I was not yet ready to be out of the baby phase,” he explained. “So here we are about to jump right in in just a few short weeks.”
