OnlyFans model Courtney Clenney, who had been facing life in prison for the murder of her boyfriend, has accepted a plea deal in the case, according to a report.
Clenney’s lawyer, Frank Prieto, on Friday confirmed the deal to TMZ, though he did not provide further details, including the terms. She’d been accused of killing Christian Obumseli during an argument inside her luxury Miami high-rise apartment building a week before his 28th birthday.
On April 3, 2022, authorities responded to One Paraiso Residences, located in the city’s Edgewater neighborhood, for reports of a stabbing. When they arrived on the scene, they discovered Obumseli suffering from a knife wound to the chest. He was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, where he died a short time later, police said.
Clenney — who goes by Courtney Tailor online — was subsequently arrested and charged with second-degree murder. She pleaded not guilty, claiming that she’d been abused by Obumseli and had acted in self-defense.
Days before the killing, police were called to the couple’s residence, where Clenney told them she’d ended their relationship and that she wanted Obumseli out of the apartment. Bodycam footage from that night shows Clenney frantic and teary-eyed as she demands a restraining order against him. Her legal team had been working to introduce the clip as evidence in addition to texts between the pair, eyewitness accounts and medical records they said would corroborate her claims.
Her lawyers had also been planning to present an arrest warrant issued against Obumseli for alleged animal cruelty prior to Clenney accepting prosecutors’ deal.
Obumseli’s family has adamantly denied that the killing occurred in self-defense, arguing that he had been the victim of domestic violence, People previously reported. Before his death, he secretly recorded videos of Clenney, including one where she repeatedly calls him the N-word.
