A seven-year-old Labradoodle named Honey was shot and wounded during a late-night walk with her owner in Brooklyn, police said Friday.
Honey, hit in the shoulder, was taken to an area animal clinic where she was treated and is expected to recover.
It was not immediately clear if the gunman was aiming for the dog, her 62-year-old owner, or someone else, police said.
The shooting happened just before 12:30 a.m. on Thursday as the pup and her owner walked down 31st St. near 5th Ave. in Greenwood Heights.
The gunman ran off. No arrests were made.
The dog was rushed to VERG Brooklyn, a 24-hour animal hospital two miles away, where the animal treated and discharged, a staffer said.
