Breed: Olde English Bulldogge
Age: 1 year
Sex: Neutered male
Size: 60 pounds
Mochi’s story: Mochi isn’t your typical English bulldog, but rather a modern version of the original breed. Olde English Bulldogges were bred to be healthier, with longer muzzles, longer legs and leaner bodies. Mochi is a great example of the breed. In addition to his physical attributes, he will make an excellent watchdog with a patient, calm, steady presence. After a brief adjustment period, Mochi becomes affectionate and loving, seeking human interaction and attention. Like many in this breed, he is highly motivated by treats, which can assist with training and bonding.
His previous owner said Mochi generally does well with other dogs; however, he has shown some hesitation toward certain dogs at the shelter – a common response in what can be somewhat stressful environments. A meet-and-greet with any resident dog is required to ensure compatibility.
Adoption fee: $20 for an approved adopter, sponsored by Dedicated Animal Welfare Group, the Mission Viejo shelter’s nonprofit arm.
