A 22-year-old woman crossing Sixth Ave. in the West Village was fatally struck by a hit-and-run driver early Sunday, cops said.
The victim was crossing Sixth Ave. near W. Washington Place in the West Village just before 5 a.m. when someone in a gray vehicle traveling uptown slammed into her. The driver fled west on Waverly Place without stopping, police said.
The woman suffered severe head trauma. Medics rushed her to Bellevue Hospital, where she died, police said. Her name was not immediately released.
The driver has not been caught.
