A Queens woman found her 33 year-old son stabbed to death on the steps of the family’s home, she told the Daily News in an exclusive interview.

“He was still conscious when I found him here on our doorstep,” Debra Scott said of the moment she found her son Jose Scott fatally wounded about 9:45 p.m. Sunday. “He was bleeding a lot. He said, ‘Help! Help me!’”

Cops say Jose was stabbed multiple times across the street in front of a 24-hour laundromat on Merrick Blvd. near 221st St. in Laurelton. No arrests have been made and police have not disclosed a motive.

“Earlier in the day, we watched basketball on TV and we shared what we were going to do together,“ his mother said. “I don’t know what happened after that.“

Medics rushed Jose to Jamaica Hospital but he could not be saved.

“He leaves two small boys,“ she said of her unmarried son. “He wanted more kids.  He was a real family man.”

Jose’s siblings are reeling from the shock slaying so close to home.

“It started across the street at the laundromat ,“ said his sister Keturah Chatman, 34. “He was trying to get into our house when he fell out. It was with his last bit of energy.“

“The detectives are still trying to piece it together,” she added. “We’re all trying to figure out who would do this to him. We can’t even fathom … Our family is heartbroken and definitely broken.”

His other sister, Shakiema Scott, 37, is also desperate for answers.

“My brother was a good person and a great father,“ Shakiema said. “He was a hard-working personal trainer.“

“He worked with all the young kids in the neighborhood,“ she added. “He looked out for them. He tried to show them a different way to get them off the streets. He was beloved in the community. We’re devastated.”
