For the first time, Los Angeles will have its own Korean Film Festival and this year, the tickets are free. However, they’re certainly going to disappear quickly, so don’t waste time before getting yours.
The festival runs Thursday, Sept. 24 through Saturday, Sept. 26 at two L.A. locations: The Korean Cultural Center, 5505 Wilshire Blvd., and the Harmony Gold Preview House, 7655 Sunset Blvd. It will include not only films but also the chance to meet acclaimed Korean filmmakers and actors.
There’s a special presentation at 7 p.m. Sept. 22 of the 2004 Cannes Gran Prix winner, “Oldboy,” an action-thriller, followed by a question-and-answer session with star Yoo Ji-tae, at the USC Eileen Norris Cinema Theater, 3507 Trousdale Parkway, Los Angeles.
