Pilot injured after small plane crashes at Montgomery County airport

A pilot was injured when his plane flipped upside down at a small airport Wednesday night in Montgomery County, authorities said.

The plane accident happened around 7:20 p.m. at Heritage Field Airport just outside of Pottstown, authorities said.

The pilot, who did not appear to have life-threatening injuries, was briefly trapped upside down inside the plane but was extricated by emergency responders, authorities said.

No other injuries were initially reported.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
