The stars have arrived on the red – wait, scratch that – blue carpet ahead of the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

The official ceremony begins at 5 p.m. PT with “NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” star Mariska Hargitay hosting the award show. Hargitay is the first woman to host the Primetime Emmys since 2011, when “Glee” star Jane Lynch hosted the televised event.

HBO Max’s “The Pitt” leads with 25 nominees, and the network’s other streaming darling, “Hacks,” got 24 nominations for its final season. This gives the streaming service the most nominations for both drama and comedy. Other top contenders are “Widow’s Bay” with 19 nominations, “Pluribus” with 18 nominations and “Beef” with 16 nominations.

Before the show begins, the nominees and other attendees are making their way in and showing off their attire for the evening. One of the early highlights of the night was comedian and “Hacks” star Meg Stalter arriving to the Emmys carpet dressed as an Emmy Award.
