The NYPD on Saturday released a sketch of the suspect wanted for attacking a woman in Brooklyn’s Prospect Park.
The 6-foot-2 suspect, sporting a light-colored baseball cap, choked his 41-year-old victim after he jumped her inside the sprawling greenspace near Wellhouse Drive and Terrace Bridge at about 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Police sources said the suspect first approached the woman as she walked near the Boathouse, trying to strike up a conversation.
The woman walked away from the stranger, but he followed and attacked, cops said.
After choking the woman, he tried to sexually assault her before running off. The suspect was last seen running west further into the park.
EMS rushed the woman to a local hospital, where doctors treated her for minor injuries.
There are no cameras near the remote area of the park where the attack took place, officials said. No arrests have been made.
Police on Saturday released a sketch of the attacker and are asking the public’s help in identifying him.
Besides the baseball cap, the suspect was wearing a light-colored short-sleeve shirt and khaki pants the night of the attack, cops said.
