Singer Lionel Richie is hospitalized with heart problems.
The 77-year-old “All Night Long” singer is being treated for an irregular heartbeat, according to TMZ.
He’s reportedly undergoing a minimally invasive surgery to treat atrial fibrillation. The former Commodores frontman is touring with Earth, Wind & Fire. The next three dates of their “Sing a Song All Night Long” campaign have been canceled while Richie recuperates.
He’s still slated to play a run of six shows in Las Vegas beginning Oct. 14 on his “King of Hearts” before performing in Brazil.
Richie has been hospitalized on at least three occasions while on the concert trail.
He was hospitalized following an Aug. 29 concert in St. Louis, where he felt unwell toward the end of the show. He reportedly spent three days being tested for cardiac issues during that ICU visit.
TMZ said the Alabama native was also brought to a Minnesota hospital in June after feeling “strange” at the end of a show in St. Paul.
Richie confessed during a 2025 interview on “The Kelly Clarkson” show that writing his memoir “Truly” made him wonder how he survived a lifetime in show business.
“This is the most terrifying business in the world,” the four-time Grammy Award winner said.
Richie’s representative couldn’t be reached for comment.
