The divorce between Tobey Maguire and Jennifer Meyer is almost final, 10 years after they first announced they were splitting up following nine years of marriage.
Their split has unspooled in slo-mo, from their initial announcement in 2016, to Meyer’s official divorce filing in 2020, to Maguire’s response five years later, when the “Spider-Man” and “Seabiscuit” actor filed for joint custody of their teen son last year.
The movie star and the jewelry designer met in Hawaii in 2003 during the filming of “Seabiscuit” and married in 2007, nine months after the birth of daughter Ruby, now 19. Their son, Otis, is 17.
The pair are now on the verge of officially dissolving their marital status, according to legal filings obtained by People. Meyer, 49, filed documents with Los Angeles Superior Court on Sept. 16 stating the two have reached an agreement solely about the dissolution of their marriage, People reported. They have agreed to mediation with a private judge on other outstanding issues in the course of finalizing a broader settlement.
In his 2020 filing Maguire, 50, had requested a private mediator to resolve child and spousal support issues, People reported at the time.
Despite still being married to Maguire, Meyer has definitely moved on. she has a 3-month-old baby with fiancée Geoff Ogunlesi. The music and entertainment company co-founder and CEO is the son of Nigerian billionaire lawyer and investment banker Adebayo Ogunlesi.
