Chad Lowe has posted to Instagram for the first time since his 13-year-old daughter Fiona died by suicide last month.
The “Pretty Little Liars” alum on Thursday shared a poignant message about grief to his stories, which included a clip of author Gerry Hussey discussing loss and spirituality on Olivia Hunt’s “On Healing” podcast. In it, Hussey, a self-described “soul coach,” touches on his belief in a “divine frequency” and mulls over what happens when a person dies.
“We both possess the human and the divine,” the Irish author says in the clip, which was filmed in 2025. “We are connected to everything that is. It just makes sense, and there’s nothing there but peace and love. So when we die, where do we go? We return to a state of peace and love.”
Fiona was the second-oldest child of the 53-year-old actor and his wife, Kim Painter, who also share daughters Mabel, 17, and Nixie, 10. They confirmed her death in a statement to People on Sept. 29, saying it had left them “heartbroken.”
“She was adored by her sisters and she was deeply loved by her parents,” the family said, adding, “In fact, she was the light of our lives.”

They concluded: “Her passing is devastating for our entire family and we ask for prayers and privacy at this time. If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, please reach out to the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by calling or texting 988.”
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner, Fiona was pronounced dead at a hospital on Sept. 29 at 1:14 a.m., just weeks before what would have been her 14th birthday. The manner was ruled a suicide.
