A man is dead after a fire broke out at a Staten Island apartment building, FDNY and police officials said Sunday.

Firefighters responded to the second floor of a six-story apartment building on Park Hill Ave. at Sobel Court in Clifton just before 8:10 p.m. Saturday. The building is part of the government-subsidized Park Hill Apartments.

Firefighters needed about an hour to bring the one-alarm blaze under control.

Medics found an unidentified man dead inside, cops said. The victim’s name wasn’t immediately disclosed.

EMTs treated a second person at the scene who refused to go to a hospital, according to FDNY officials.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
