A 32-year-old woman who dropped her Apple AirPods was beaten and robbed by three men in Central Park Sunday night, cops said.
The victim was looking for headphones she dropped near East Drive and 90th St. in the park when the thieves approached her around 9:45 p.m., police said.
The crooks demanded the woman hand over her valuables before repeatedly punching her in the head, face and neck, according to police.
The bandits made off with the victim’s backpack, which contained $80, keys and her headphones, in addition to her phone, which they threw into a nearby body of water, cops said.
The victim was treated at the scene for injuries to her head, neck and hands.
Robberies in Central Park have more than doubled this year, with 19 muggings compared to only eight during the same period last year, according to NYPD stats current as of Oct. 11.
Meanwhile, there’s a 12% reduction in robberies citywide this year, with only 10,492 incidents compared to the 11,947 robberies across the five boroughs in 2025.
