A man was fatally shot in the head during a drive-by shooting on the George Washington Bridge Tuesday night, officials said.

The unidentified victim was driving on the upper level of the Hudson River span, heading toward New Jersey at about 7:10 p.m. when someone from a passing vehicle opened fire, law enforcement sources said.

The victim was shot in the head and crashed as the vehicle carrying the shooter drove off, sources with the Port Authority Police Department said.

Medics rushed the victim to Englewood Medical Center in New Jersey, where he died.

No arrests have been made.

The PAPD shut down the New Jersey-bound lanes on the upper level as the investigation continued.
