A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a hit-and-run that killed a 75-year-old woman just steps from her Brooklyn home last year, cops said.
Jose Rodriguez-Duran, 33, was collared almost exactly one year after allegedly running a red light and slamming into Judith Byron near 41st St. and Seventh Ave. in Sunset Park around 9:30 p.m. last Oct. 4, according to police.
He was charged with leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and failure to obey a traffic device.
Rodriguez-Duran was driving north on Seventh Ave. and blasted through a steady red light, smashing into Byron, who was crossing 41st St. with the walk signal, cops said.
Byron was knocked to the ground and later died at Maimonides Medical Center. She had almost made it to her home on Seventh Ave. when she was mowed down.
Rodriguez-Duran’s arraignment was pending in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Wednesday.
