A woman was arrested after allegedly firing multiple rounds from an AR-15 style rifle at the Los Angeles home of Rihanna while the pop star was at home, authorities said.
Police did not immediately identify the 30-year-old suspect in the 1:21 p.m. drive-by shooting on Sunday, in which no one was injured, Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson Sgt. Jonathan de Vera told the Los Angeles Times, which was first to report the incident.
At least 10 shots were fired from a white Tesla across the street from Rihanna’s gate, the Los Angeles Times reported, citing dispatch audio. Bullets pierced a gate to the property and an RV parked in the driveway, LAPD spokesperson Armen Arias told the newspaper. At least one of the rounds pierced the wall of her home, KTLA-TV reported.
Police picked up the alleged shooter about 30 minutes after the 911 call in a shopping center parking lot, and Arias said they found an assault rifle and seven casings in her car.
It was not clear whether the 38-year-old singer’s rapper partner A$AP Rocky or their three children were home when it happened, and Rihanna’s reps had not responded to comment requests. Police said more information, including booking details and charges, would be forthcoming on Monday. The department’s elite Robbery-Homicide Division is investigating, according to reports.
