Northeast Philadelphia shooting leaves teen in critical condition

A 14-year-old boy was hospitalized after being shot in Northeast Philadelphia on Sunday night.

Police said the teenager was transported by a private vehicle to Nazareth Hospital after reportedly being shot during an incident on the 3300 block of Aldine Street in the Mayfair section at 11:07 p.m.

Five 9mm bullet casings and a weapon were recovered, according to the police’s Shooting Investigation Group, which is leading the investigation.

The teenage victim has since been transported to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, where he was listed in critical condition, police said.

A person of interest in the shooting is in custody, police said. In 2026, at least six people under 18 have been shot in Philadelphia, according to police. More than 113 shooting victims were under 18 years old last year, or about 12% of all shootings in 2025.
