A dish that Panda Express publicists call its spiciest recipe to date is among several limited time items appearing in restaurants lately.
Here are a few highlights.
Dynamite Sweet & Sour Chicken: This “swicy” take on traditional sweet and sour chicken is a collaboration between Rosemead-based Panda Express and the South Korean brand Buldak, which specializes in spicy ramen and snacks. Ingredients incude onions and bell peppers. The dish will be available through May 25. pandaexpress.com

Monster Pizookie: BJ’s new warm cookie dessert is available in a single serving or as a Pizookie Platter that’s about four times as big.
It’s made with chocolate chunk cookies topped with Oreo crumbs and vanilla bean ice cream dyed blue, similar to the Muppets’ Cookie Monster. The jumbo size has four cookie bases and eight scoops of ice cream. bjsrestaurants.com

Crispy Chicken Crunchwrap Slider: Taco Bell followed up last week’s Live Mas Live fan event with a new way to serve crispy chicken. It features tortilla chip–coated nuggets, pico de gallo and a three-cheese blend wrapped in a grilled tortilla for about $2.49. There’s also a jalapeño honey mustard version.
The Irvine-based chain is also adding a Cantina Chicken Rolled Quesadilla to its permanent menu. tacobell.com

Western Bacon Chicken Sandwich: If you know anything about Carl’s Jr., you know what to expect here. Like the signature Western Bacon Cheeseburger, it’s got the bacon slices, the onion rings and the barbecue sauce, only this time with a hand-breaded chicken fillet. carlsjr.com
