Wife of ’19 Kids and Counting’ star Joseph Duggar also arrested

The wife of “19 Kids and Counting” star Joseph Duggar was arrested on Friday, three days after her husband was taken into custody for allegedly molesting a 9-year-old girl while on vacation in Florida six years ago.

Kendra Duggar is facing four counts each of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and second-degree false imprisonment, according to the Tontitow Police Department in Arkansas.

“This remains an active and ongoing investigation,” the department said in a statement, which noted state law limits the information allowed to be released in cases involving minors. “To protect the integrity of the investigation and the privacy of those involved, no further details will be provided at this time.”

In the same statement, police said 31-year-old Joseph Duggar was hit with the same charges. Duggar was the seventh-oldest of 19 children on the TLC reality series, which ended its 7-year run in 2015.

Duggar was arrested in Tontitow on Wednesday, after an unidentified girl, who is now 14, accused him of sexual assault, then participated in a forensic interview with investigators, police said.

She claimed she was on vacation in 2020 with her family in Panama City Beach when Duggar touched her inappropriately. In one instance, he “asked her to sit next to him on a couch and covered them with a blanket,” according to a statement from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.

During this time, Duggar manipulated the victim’s underwear and grazed her genitals. Duggar would also continue to rub his hands on her thighs,” it continued.

Duggar was also charged earlier this week with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim less than 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older in connection with the allegations.

He was being held without bail at the Washington County Detention Center in Fayetteville while he awaits extradition to Florida.
