Khloé Kardashian accused her former father-in-law of trying to keep Lamar Odom off life support when he was comatose following his infamous 2015 overdose, in the hopes of inheriting the former Laker’s riches.

The reality star, 41, said in Netflix’s “Untold: The Life and Death of Lamar Odom,” that after the Queens-born NBA star overdosed at a Nevada brothel, his father, Joe Odom, arrived at the hospital prior to Kardashian.

“I assume [he] thought he’s now the beneficiary to Lamar and Joe just said, ‘Don’t put him on life support. Turn those machines off,’” recalled Kardashian, who had filed to divorce Odom, now 46, in 2013 after his drug use became “monstrous.” She withdrew that petition in the wake of the overdose.

Kardashian said she reminded Odom’s father she was still the athlete’s wife and asked what he needed.

“And Joe wanted a pair of Nikes and $100, and a hotel room for the night,” continued Kardashian. “And Joe left, and never came back. This is my husband, through sickness and health. … I was gonna do everything I could to make sure that he had the best fighting chance.”

She previously discussed the encounter with Odom directly, telling him during a February 2025 episode of “The Kardashians,” that she “was there when your father said to ‘pull the plug so he can be on your life insurance. Then I was there when you had six heart attacks, 12 strokes. … I didn’t leave you for four months.”

Kardashian said in the documentary that she was skeptical of those in Odom’s “circle,” prompting “filters” for anyone who visited, and non-disclosure agreements for most.

Earlier in the doc, Kardashian said that she was previously “such an enabler without knowing I was an enabler” as she’d search for him “in alleys… in motels” and “clean up after him, so the housekeeping didn’t sell a story.”

“But I just felt such a responsibility to cover this up, hold it together, and protect him,” said Kardashian, who filed for divorce again in May 2016, when she saw Odom using again.

Odom was arrested in Las Vegas this January for DUI after allegedly driving while high. TMZ reported last month that he’d completed a voluntary month-long rehab stint to address marijuana addiction.
