
During the second weekend in July, Deep Ellum will come alive with literature and music during the Deep Vellum Music and Literature Festival. Over the weekend, attendees can go to readings and installations and listen to community dialogue and live music from July 10 through 12.
Deep Vellum Books is known for supporting Dallas art and literature, and it’s helped introduce indie literature to many North Texas readers. They are also known for their music and literature festival showcasing creatives from around the world.
All the fun begins at 6 p.m. on Friday, during the evening festivalgoers can enjoy the Voices on Latin American literature in translation and musical performances by Cayuga All-Stars and Ceci Ceci.
Saturday will have over 15 panels, performances and activities to check out. The musical headliner will be Hanif Abdurraqib and Jamila Woods
Joined by Lawrence Burney and DAMOYEE at Sons of Hermann Hall.
The festival will close with poetry readings with D-CLAIM, Oksana Lutsyshyna, Robin Myers and Sophia Terazawa.
People interested in attending can choose between a weekend pass or a day pass. The events will take place at Ruins, Undermain Theatre, Life in Deep Ellum, Kettle Art Gallery, Deep Ellum Art Co., AllGood Cafe, Poets Books, TRG, Deep Ellum Community Center, Nature of Things Gallery, and Deep Vellum Books.
