A fall health fair for older adults is coming up in the Hills community at the East Anaheim Community Center.
The Sept. 26 event, sponsored by the city of Anaheim’s Older Adult Program, will feature vendors, screenings, demonstrations, health resources, free lunch and raffle prizes. There is no charge to attend.

Canyon Hills Presbyterian plans celebration
Join friends and neighbors for a fun-filled celebration as Canyon Hills Presbyterian Church hosts its “Paving the Way” parking lot fundraiser and a ministry recognition of The Rev. Lissa Smith on Oct. 17
The community is invited to the 5:30 to 9 p.m. celebration in the church’s Fellowship Hall.
This exciting evening will include curated cuisine, music, live entertainment, dancing, casino games, raffle prizes and much more, and supports the church campus, mission and community service. The special evening also honors Smith on her upcoming retirement, recognizing her more than 30 years of dedication and service to the church and community.
Tickets are $60 per person, which includes food, entertainment, beverage coupons and a starter set of casino chips. Woman’s Club received recognition
Congratulations to the Woman’s Club of Orange for receiving the Best Long-Standing Organization Award during the recent Best of Orange 2026, a community recognition program hosted by the Orange Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau.
First Vice President Kathleen Stevens accepted the award on behalf of the Woman’s Club of Orange from Chamber of Commerce representative and Duke of Orange Cameron Pate and Miss Orange Kalista Brown.
The WCO was established in 1915 and has remained dedicated to “Making a Difference” by supporting various local philanthropic organizations, historic preservation and community improvement.

Shop fabric to help families of sick children
Hephatha Lutheran Church is hosting a fabric and quilting material sale as a fundraiser from 9 a.m. until noon on Sept. 26 in the church Fellowship Hall and courtyard.
The sale offers a wide selection of materials priced at $5 per pound and proceeds will benefit the Ronald McDonald House in support of the organization’s mission of providing comfort, care and resources, including food and a place for families to stay, while their critically ill children are receiving treatment at Rady Children’s Health in Orange, formerly CHOC.
Last year, the sale resulted in a $3,000 donation to the Ronald McDonald House in Orange to help subsidize its family food program. Hephatha also donates quilts to the Ronald McDonald House for the families as part of the church mission outreach. Thrivent Financial is providing coffee and donuts during the sale.

Helping keep things looking nice
Members of the Woman’s Club of Orange Garden Section, their families and friends recently teamed up with the Assistance League of Orange, the Assisteens and their parents/guardians in a collaborative effort to clean up the planters at Hart Park in Orange.
This community beautification project consisted of cleaning and restoring all three planter levels, including adding mulch to the planter with the beautiful roses.
WCO Garden Section Rosarians maintain the roses in Hart Park and the Orange Park Plaza on a regular basis and were grateful for the teamwork that made this project a success.
