An Anaheim man was charged with murder after allegedly stabbing another man to death with a pocketknife when he returned home early from work and found him in bed with his wife and their two young children, prosecutors said on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
Ismael Pinedalopez, 34, is accused of fatally stabbing Nicholas Garcia, 28, multiple times on Saturday, Oct. 24, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
Anaheim police responded to a report of a stabbing at a home in the 700 block of North Pine Street, where officers found Pinedalopez covered in blood, prosecutors said.
Garcia was found dead inside a bedroom Pinedalopez shared with his wife and their 2-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son, the DA’s Office said.
Prosecutors said Garcia was wearing only his underwear when Pinedalopez returned home and discovered him in bed with his wife and children.
Pinedalopez’s wife and children were not injured.
Pinedalopez was charged with one felony count of murder. He faces a maximum sentence of 26 years to life in prison if convicted as charged.
Violence is never the answer, and it is truly heartbreaking that these young children had to witness their father commit such a horrific act of brutality in their own home,” Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer said in a statement.
