Britney Spears enters treatment in wake of DUI arrest: report

Britney Spears has voluntarily checked herself into a “treatment facility” following her DUI arrest in California.

The 44-year-old “Toxic” singer — who has a history of leaving rehab a few days in — might stay beyond the traditional 30-day length “for a more meaningful recovery,” insiders with direct knowledge told TMZ.

It’s unclear how long Spears’ program is intended to last or where in the U.S. she opted to get help, but she made the move in recent days upon realizing “she (had) hit rock bottom.”

A representative for Spears confirmed to the Daily News that “Britney has voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility,” but did not indicate where or the nature of the treatment.

Though the outlet reports Adderall and alcohol have long been issues for Spears, she previously said only the ADHD medication was a vice.

In Spears’ 2021 memoir, “The Woman in Me,” she said she “never had a drinking problem,” but considered Adderall her “drug of choice” to give her “a few hours of feeling less depressed.”

“She knows strategically this will look good in front of the judge — that she’s taking it seriously,” said one source.

California Highway Patrol arrested the Grammy winner in early March for an alleged DUI and found an unknown substance in her car. She was shortly thereafter released from custody.

Her representative at the time said in a statement to the Daily News that the arrest was “an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable,” though Spears’ camp hoped it would “be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life.”

“Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for [her] well-being,” said her rep at the time.

Hours prior to the arrest, TMZ reported that Spears had secured a permanent restraining order against an alleged stalker.
