Bruce Springsteen will perform live in Minneapolis to support the No Kings protest this weekend.
Demonstrators in every state will gather for 3,100 events protesting the Trump administration on Saturday. More than 9 million people are expected to participate. That includes The Boss, who will be in St. Paul with activists Jane Fonda and Joan Baez.
Springsteen plans to sing “The Streets of Minneapolis,” his new song inspired by the killings of Minnesota protesters Renee Good and Alex Pretti by federal agents in January.
“When you have the opportunity to sing something where the timing is essential and if you have something powerful to sing, it elevates the moment, it elevates your job to another level,” Springsteen told the Minnesota Star Tribune prior to the rally.
Organizers have pegged that gathering as the movement’s flagship event. As many as 100,000 people are expected to attend.
Springsteen’s Land of Hope & Dreams U.S. tour kicks off in Minneapolis on Tuesday.

His fellow pop music superstar Bette Midler released new music this week to show support for Saturday afternoon’s protests.
The Divine Miss M posted her rendition of Woody Guthrie’s “All You Fascists (Bound to Lose)” on her website Thursday. She urged marchers to sing her updated version of that 1944 tune, which takes aim at her longtime rival, President Trump.
“We’re gonna win the midterms, we’re comin’ for his ass, he knows it too,” Midler sings.
Midler’s long-running feud with Trump has largely played out on social media, where he referred to the Emmy, Grammy and Tony award-winning performer as a “washed up psycho” in 2019.
She recorded an Instagram video urging supporters to find their local rally at NoKings.org. Midler didn’t say if or where she’ll attend a protest.
The first two No Kings rallies were held in June and October of last year. Organizers estimate more than 7 million protesters attended the latter event.
President Trump plans to spend the weekend at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
