Carrot Top had the full support of his fans for his return to the Las Vegas stage following an apparent suicide attempt.
The 61-year-old comedian, whose real name is Scott Thompson, resumed his residency at the Luxor Hotel & Casino on Monday night with a standing ovation from the audience, according to video shared online.
“Thank you so much. God bless all my fans and my family, my mom, my brother, everybody here tonight,” he told the crowd.
Thompson went on to call it “an emotional night” before touching on his “rough month,” while still keeping things lighthearted.
“It’s been a month of trying to figure out what’s appropriate,” he said, pulling out a noose and joking, “so I figured this would probably not be appropriate.”
The comedian continued: “I don’t know what to talk about. My first time in my career, I have no idea. What is there to talk about really?”

Thompson was hospitalized in Las Vegas on September 18.
According to a police report obtained by TMZ, officers discovered him unconscious by the pool in his backyard during a welfare check requested by his manager. They reportedly spoke on the phone that night, with Thompson expressing concern about an article detailing claims of sexual impropriety against him.
Following the call, Thompson texted his manager the word “Done,” prompting a call to the police.
Thompson was hospitalized for about a week and he recently opened up about the ordeal over the weekend.
“I’m truly overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support, prayers, and well wishes I’ve received over the past couple of weeks,” he wrote via Instagram. “Every message, text, and kind thought has meant more to me than you know.”
Days before the suicide attempt, Thompson was accused of giving alcohol to a 19-year-old at his Winter Park, Fla. home and engaging in sexual conduct with him when he was too drunk to consent. The incident, which occurred in 2021, was mentioned in a lawsuit filed by Thompson’s former opener, Brian Evans, filed in a bid to overturn a previous legal settlement he made with the comedian.
Evans has alleged Thompson sent him a sexually explicit video of himself. Thompson’s team, meanwhile, has said Evans tried to blackmail the comedian with the clip — a claim he since has denied.
