A child died Saturday at McKinney’s Apex Centre water park, city officials said in a statement Monday.
Very little information was publicly released in the statement about the death, which city officials described as an “incident,” though they expressed condolences and said a full investigation will take place.
“Our thoughts are with the child’s family, loved ones, and all those affected by this heartbreaking event,” the statement said. “The safety and well-being of our residents and visitors remain our highest priority.”

According to the statement, officials will ensure support resources are available to those impacted by the loss.
