Is weekend two the new weekend one when it comes to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival? Well, if you’re a Belieber, you might think so.

Justin Bieber returned to the Coachella main stage on Saturday, April 19, for his second weekend as a headliner at the annual music festival. His weekend one set became a major topic of discussion for his more relaxed approach, especially when placed in between fellow headliners Sabrina Carpenter and Karol G’s more extravagant sets.

Many of Bieber’s fans rushed to the singer’s defense online, voicing their appreciation for the way he performed some of his bigger hits from earlier in his career by playing clips of the songs on YouTube and singing them back to his younger self.

Many of the songs he performed during weekend one were also ones he hadn’t performed live in more than a decade such as “Favorite Girl,” “That Should Be Me” and “Beauty and a Beat.”

Weekend two also featured some deep cuts such as “One Time,” “U Smile” and “One Less Lonely Girl,” the later of which is also significant because it became a tradition at Bieber’s shows for one lucky fan to be brought on stage to be serenaded by the pop star. The moment provided a natural opportunity to bring out a long time stan of the Biebs that the crowd would recognize – Billie Eilish. The “Ocean Eyes” singer seemed to be in disbelief of the moment, stumbling to the ground as Bieber helped her seat. The moment was also full circle as Bieber and Eilish first met at Coachella in 2019.

But that wasn’t the only surprise Bieber had in store for his weekend two performance. Additionally the singer brought out Sexyy Red to perform “Sweet Spot,” Big Sean to perform “As Long as You Love Me” and “No Pressure,” as well as SZA to perform “Snooze.” Plus Dijon returned for another weekend to perform “DEVOTION.”
