Rising three stories above the Empire Polo Club grounds, the Red Bull Mirage was the place to be in the desert during the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival as people stepped into the trendy cool oasis for drinks and exclusive viewing of the Quasar stage.
“I love Red Bull, they always have the best activations and the best music moments,” said Idalia Valles, who was hanging out at the Mirage on Saturday, April 18. “This structure is amazing.”
The 20,000-plus-square foot venue was back for its second year for both weekends of the festival and attracted hundreds of festival goers with pop-up experiences, DJ sets, drinks and food. Drinks in the three-story structure where free during happy hour, including the popular Red Bull slushie, which was a big hit last year.
The wait to get without reservations could take up to an hour or more, but for many attendees, it was well worth it.
“I honestly love this and even waiting in line is worth it. There’s such a great view,” Christali Vega said.
The Red Bull Mirage isn’t a simple pop-up. It’s a legitimate building with stairs, hardwood floors, couches and even high-end restaurant Nobu Omakase serving sit down dinners for $375 per person.
But before the restaurant opened on the second floor the vibe on Saturday afternoon felt like a VIP club with people sitting on couches and others hanging on the balconies overlooking the Quasar stage as a DJ spun tunes.
“It’s feels like you’re in another world. I don’t feel like I’m at a music festival but at a cool L.A. spot or something. The drinks are good, the music is good and check out that view,” said Los Angeles resident Sandra Lopez and she took a selfie on the balcony.
