NYPD detectives are investigating the death of a 5-year-old girl after she fell unconscious following an assault in a Queens home Wednesday, police said.
The child was found unconscious inside the 110th St. home near 95th Ave. in Richmond Hill just before 7 p.m., officials said. Cops were called to the scene on a report of an assault.
The girl was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where she was first listed in critical condition, and later died. The girl’s name was not immediately released.
The city’s Medical Examiner will determine how the child died, an NYPD spokeswoman said. Detectives were questioning the child’s family to determine what happened in the hours leading up to the girl’s death.
No arrests have been made.
