The city of Dallas is celebrating National Bike Month by promoting bike-riding events throughout May, hoping to encourage healthy habits and activity amongst North Texans of all ages. 

On May 7, students participated in Bike and Roll to School Day across the region. Now, it’s time for working Dallasites to take their turn with Bike to Work Week May 11-17. 

The city of Dallas has partnered with local transit authority DART to promote Bike to Work Day on May 15. DART will host events at various stations across the city for participants and those who want to learn  more information on potential benefits. 

Here are events and road closures to know.

May 15, Bike to Work Day

The following DART stations will host events featuring giveaways, snacks, health benefit information areas and more.

May 16, Dallas Bike Ride

Dallas Bike Ride is back again for its 20-mile, car-free social ride through downtown Dallas, Uptown and the Bishop Arts District on May 16. The ride will start and finish at Dallas City Hall. 

Road closures across downtown Dallas will start around 8 a.m. and end at 12:05 p.m.

Road closures in Victory Park and the Design District will start around 8 a.m. and end at 9:35 a.m.

 Road closures in West Dallas will begin before 8 a.m. and finish at 10:40 a.m.

Kessler Park will have road closures starting around 8 a.m. and ending at 11 a.m.

Road closures in Oak Cliff and Bishop Arts District will start before 9 a.m. and end around 12 p.m.
