A Dallas police officer was fired Thursday after officials said he assaulted a family member late last year, was arrested on a family violence charge and failed to report that he had been named in a protective order.

Officer Armando Jaramillo was terminated by Dallas Police Chief Daniel Comeaux during a disciplinary hearing Thursday, the Dallas Police Department said.

Jaramillo was arrested by Royse City police Nov. 4, 2025, on a charge of assault causing bodily injury-family violence, a Class A misdemeanor, according to Dallas police.

The department said Jaramillo was terminated for engaging in adverse conduct, including assaulting a family member, being involved in a disturbance that prompted a police response and failing to notify his chain of command when he was named in a protective order.

Jaramillo had been with the department since March 2022 and was assigned to the Northeast Patrol Division. He had been placed on administrative leave after his arrest, according to Dallas police.
