Dan Goldman: Reelect me to defeat Trump and take back our democracy

The next three years will determine whether the America we know survives. And Democrats in Congress must play a central role in that fight.

I’ve spent my career in public service tackling corruption and fighting for justice — from prosecuting Wall Street cheats and mob bosses, to successfully leading the first impeachment of Donald Trump, to standing up and delivering for the diverse communities of New York’s 10th congressional district over the past three years.

Right now, Trump is taking a hatchet to everything our country stands for. He’s engaging in unprecedented levels of corruption to enrich himself and his billionaire buddies, abducting our immigrant neighbors, weaponizing the government against his enemies, slashing healthcare and food benefits, and starting illegal and reckless wars overseas that are raising the cost of living at home.

In the face of this existential crisis, many career politicians — including my opponent — are folding.

New Yorkers don’t just need a fighter. They need a fighter who knows how to win, and who has the track record to prove it. Now is simply not the moment for on-the-job training.

I’m already leading the fight to abolish ICE and rein in Donald Trump. I successfully sued DHS to force congressional oversight of abusive detention centers, introduced legislation to unmask ICE agents and hold them accountable, and converted my Manhattan office into a triage center to support immigrant families — working in coalition with advocates, faith leaders, and lawyers to free 42 New Yorkers from ICE detention.

And no Democrat in Congress has been more effective at exposing Trump’s corruption and lawlessness. When we take back the House, I’ll be uniquely positioned to lead the investigations to hold the Trump administration accountable. I’ve already been building the case: former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s admission to me under oath that ICE is violating the law by deporting asylum applicants will be Exhibit A.

But oversight and accountability is just the first step. To deliver true justice, we need to fix a rigged system designed to make the rich richer and keep working families from accessing the American Dream.

My ROBINHOOD Act will jumpstart that process by closing the loophole the wealthiest Americans use to avoid taxes. It would raise nearly $30 billion annually to fund universal childcare nationwide — with money left over for healthcare, affordable housing, education, and more.

While I’ve been fighting the tyrant in the White House, I’ve also been delivering results at home. I’ve brought back $250 million to communities across the district, secured the largest-ever EDC grant to revitalize the Brooklyn Marine Terminal, and ensured that 9/11 first responders and survivors never have to worry about paying for their healthcare.

This is a moment of crisis — economically, politically, and morally. New Yorkers need bold leaders who can deliver results under pressure. I’m the only candidate in this race who’s done that.

That’s why we’ve earned the support of the vast majority of labor unions including the AFL-CIO, DC 37, and the United Federation of Teachers; nearly every one of the district’s 31 NYCHA tenant association presidents; and progressive organizations like Planned Parenthood Action Fund and the Sierra Club.

You may not agree with me on every issue, but I promise you this: I will always be honest with you, and my decisions will only be guided by my principles and the New Yorkers I represent.

With the problems facing us, we cannot afford rookie mistakes. We need representatives who are ready to fight on Day One. Together, we will take back our country and restore power and opportunity where they belong: in the hands of working people.

Goldman has represented New York’s 10th congressional district covering parts of Brooklyn and Lower Manhattan since 2023.
