
A DART transit security officer is listed in stable condition after being shot in the leg near Fair Park Thursday night.
Dallas police responded to a call about 8 p.m. Thursday night near 1400 South Trunk Avenue, according to a statement from Dallas Police Department spokeswoman Allison Hudson. They found a DART officer who was hit by a stray bullet as two suspects were shooting at each other near DART’s MLK Jr. station, according to the statement.
The officer was transported to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition, according to a statement from Dallas Fire-Rescue.
Erin Myers, a DART spokeswoman, wrote in a statement that the shooting did not take place on DART property, and that no other employees or passengers were injured.
No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting, as of Friday morning. This is an ongoing investigation.
