A falling tree struck and killed an 85-year-old man walk in Forest Park in Queens during a severe thunderstorm, cops said Sunday.
The man was walking in the park near Union Turnpike and Woodhaven Blvd. when the tree struck him about 6:25 p.m. Saturday, cops said. He died at the scene.
The victim’s name was not immediately released.
The storm’s powerful wind knocked down trees in Queens and the Bronx, and caused flight delays Saturday night.
