The shooting of Offset last week outside a South Florida casino is now being investigated by the FBI.

The 34-year-old former Migos rapper, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was hospitalized April 6 after he was shot around 7:24 that evening near Hollywood’s Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. A representative at the time told Rolling Stone that Offset was “stable and being closely monitored.”

The Miami division of the FBI on Tuesday shared in a release that it will be handling the case moving forward given that the casino is owned and operated by the federally recognized Seminole Indian Tribe.

“Crimes committed on Indian land are subject to federal investigation,” said the FBI, which is now seeking information regarding the shooting.

“A large group of subjects assaulted a lone victim when one of the subjects produced a handgun and fired a single shot which struck the victim. After the shots were fired, the subjects then attempted to remove the wounded victim’s watch. The watch was not stolen,” the release stated.

The FBI also published seven images of the alleged subjects, as well as the matte-gray Chevrolet Tahoe and black Chevrolet Suburban in which two of them fled. The former headed toward Hollywood, the latter toward Miami.

Bronx rapper Lil Tjay — who denies having shot Offset — was taken into custody for disorderly conduct the night of the shooting, for a fight that preceded it, TMZ reported. Dawn M. Florio, an attorney for Lil Tjay, denied he was shot or “charged with any shooting.”

Another individual was also arrested that night, but had not been charged as of last Tuesday.

Lil Tjay was released from Broward County Jail on $500 bond Tuesday, at which point he denied shooting Offset, who he dubbed a “rat.”

Offset, who is also known for his tumultuous marriage to estranged wife Cardi B, then lobbed the label right back at Lil Tjay, adding, “U ain’t buss nun” — which in hip-hop can mean, “You haven’t done anything impressive.”

Offset, whose cousin and Migos collaborator Takeoff was killed in a 2022 shooting, returned to the public eye Saturday night at the University of Arkansas’ Rowfest. Though he took the stage in a wheelchair, he ultimately performed on his feet.
