A Connecticut fugitive wanted for the murder of another man in Waterbury earlier this year was captured Monday in Hartford, authorities said.

Cops said Gerard Brown, 45, was tracked down after traveling through multiple states prior to his arrest, the Connecticut Post reported. Brown, a Waterbury resident, was nabbed on Shultas Place in Hartford.

Brown was wanted for the murder of Frank Garay, a 29-year-old Hartford native, on Sept. 15. Garay was found dead in the street that night from a gunshot wound.

Investigators have described the killing as a targeted operation carried out by Brown and another man, LaTroy Young, who acted as a getaway driver. Young was arrested one week after the murder; he was out on parole and traced to the scene through an ankle monitor.

Young “is on video preparing a car to flee, waiting for the execution and pulling up to pick up the person involved in the shooting,” Connecticut prosecutor Don Therkildsen said following Young’s arrest.

Brown was charged with murder, reckless endangerment and five weapons crimes, the Hartford Courant reported. Young was charged with murder conspiracy and two weapons offenses.

Both men remain behind bars. Brown is being held on $3 million bond, while Young is held on $1 million.
